UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP have confirmed that a shooting involving a police officer has occurred at Bachelor Drive and North River Drive at approximately 2:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.
An officer was attempting to conduct a traffic stop when an exchange of gun fire occurred. The officer shot suffered serious injuries and has since been transported to Royal Inland Hospital for surgery.
At this time, the police have yet to find the vehicle that the suspect fled the scene with. The vehicle has been confirmed to be a 1998 four door, white Chrysler Intrepid with B.C. licence plate AF7 65A.

Tensions are on the rise after a Kamloops RCMP officer was allegedly shot. The officer was said to have been shot at a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.
The status on the officer is yet to be disclosed however, it is alleged that he was seriously injured and that the suspect fled the scene. The suspect is said to be armed and dangerous.
Allegedly, the suspect fled in a 1998 four door white Chrysler Intrepid with B.C. licence plate AF7 65A.
