Surfers' paradise felt a bit of a shake-up Wednesday evening after a 4.6 magnitude earthquake hit the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Located at a latitude of 49.17 north and a longitude of 125.72 west, Tofino, B.C. was struck by an earthquake at approximately 6:02 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The quake was felt throughout the Vancouver Island region however, no damage has been reported as of yet. Natural Resource Canada is not expecting a tsunami.
Tofino is not the only area on Vancouver Island to have been hit by an earthquake. In the past week, an earthquake shook the Port Hardy region on two occasions.
On Saturday, January 3rd, an offshore 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit 208 kilometres west of Port Hardy. Only the day before on Friday, another 5.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded 221 kilometres west of Port Hardy. The aftershock was felt in Campbell River and Vancouver Island.
