At this time, FortisBC emergency crew members are currently working on fixing the outage in Beaverdell; however, an estimated time of power restoration has not yet been established. On the positive side, power has since been restored to 157 customers in downtown Rock Creek.
According to Nicole Bogdanovic, Communications Adviser with FortisBC, crews have access to specific areas in the whole fire region, but there's a lot of safety concerns that need to be addressed first.
Preliminary assessments found that at least 75 poles have been burnt. In the area of Westbridge and Rock Creek alone, there are currently 60 poles down.
