Health officials reported 109 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases in the province to 1,389.
A majority of these new cases are coming from Fraser Health, reporting 65 new cases. Interior Health reported 26, Vancouver Coastal health reported 13, five in Northern Health, and zero reported from the Island Health region.
There are currently 128 people in hospital due to the virus, with 48 of those individuals being in intensive care.
There has been one additional COVID-19 related death, bringing the total to 1740 in British Columbia.
It has also been reported that 76.7% of all adults in BC and 75.1% of those 12 and older have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In total 4,296,151 doses of Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca have been administered to people across BC, with 823,371 of those jabs being second doses.
In a joint statement from Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health, Adrian Dix, reminded the public to protect their families over this Fathers Day. “This weekend, for Father’s Day, let’s do our part and honour our fathers by protecting them with our own COVID-19 vaccine.”
