(UPDATE: Oct. 28 @ 12:50 pm) - A fugitive on BOLO’s top 25 most wanted list has been located.
On Oct. 18, a national appeal to find Canada’s most wanted criminals was updated and released.
Just two days later, on Oct. 20 a BC man who ranked number 24 on the list was found in Manitoba.
27-year-old Quinten Anthony Meyer was wanted in relation to a break-and-enter and sexual assault on the Island.
On July 30 2022, Oceanside RCMP responded to a report that a man had broken into a residence and sexually assaulted a resident.
The suspect was arrested later the same day and subsequently released to appear in court at a later date.
An ongoing investigation into the incident revealed he had provided a false name to police.
Meyer was charged with break and enter, sexual assault, assault with a weapon and obstruction of a police officer.
Oceanside RCMP has now reported that Myer was arrested in Steinbach, Manitoba.
He remains in custody and arrangements are being made to return him to British Columbia to appear in court in relation to the July charges.
An additional two other men from BC are also wanted on BOLO’s list, along with a man who broke out of a BC prison back in July.

(ORIGINAL STORY: Oct. 18 @ 3:45 pm) - The Bolo Program, standing for Be On The Lookout, amplifies priority wanted notices that police services have already requested the public’s assistance on.
In cooperation with Canadian police services and Crime Stoppers programs, BOLO launches amplification campaigns to reach wider audiences for these notices.
This morning, the national list was updated as police make another appeal to locate these dangerous suspects.
Canadians with information on the whereabouts of any of these individuals could get up to $250,000.
Topping the list is 35-year-old Rabih Alkhalil, who is wanted on Canada-wide warrants for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and being unlawfully at large.
In 2017, an Ontario judge sentenced Alkhalil to life in prison for the first-degree murder of a man in a Toronto coffee shop. He was also given a concurrent sentence of 20 years for conspiracy to commit murder.
In 2020, in Quebec, Alkhalil was sentenced to eight years in prison for drug trafficking.
During the evening hours of July 21, 2022, RCMP was called to the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam, where Alkhalil had escaped with the assistance of two accomplices posing as contractors.
On August 30, 2022, after his escape, a jury found Alkhalil guilty of first-degree murder, a crime for which he was standing trial for in BC.
It’s unsure if Alkhalil is still hiding in Canada or has successfully in fled the country, but he is known to use fake identity documents and passports.
Anyone who has information about his whereabouts is urged not to approach and asked to contact the Coquitlam RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Further down the list is Amardip Singh Rai, who is wanted by the Surrey RCMP on 17 charges stemming from an investigation that began in Aug. 2019.
His outstanding warrants include sexual assault, confining a person without lawful authority, administering noxious thing with the intent to endanger the life or cause bodily harm, two counts of assault with a weapon, multiple firearms-related charges some of which include possession of a firearm without a license and/or registration.
Singh Rai was arrested by Surrey RCMP Strike Force Target Team on April 28, 2021, and was released by the courts on May 7, 2021, with conditions.
It is alleged that Amardip Singh Rai failed to appear for a subsequent court date and therefore a warrant was issued for his arrest, despite police efforts, he has not yet been located.
Anyone with information about Amardip Singh Rai is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
Also on the list is 71-year-old, Oliver Ole Langelid from Creston.
Langelid is accused of sexual interference with a person under 16 and sexual assault.
He was last known to be in Creston and has failed to attend court for the alleged charges.
Anyone who knows Langelid whereabouts is asked to contact the Creston RCMP at 250-428-9313.
On the Island, police are also looking for 27-year-old Quinten Anthony Meyer who is wanted in relation to a break-and-enter and sexual assault.
