PHOTOS: Warning issued after bears ransack car in northern BC

A vehicle owner in Terrace has learned a hard lesson about leaving potential bear attractants in your car.

On Thursday, BC Conservation Officer Service tweeted about the incident where a bear or bears trashed the car looking for whatever may have been inside.

"It’s almost December, but that doesn’t mean all bears are denning. COs across B.C. are still dealing with conflict calls – don’t give bears an opportunity to get into garbage, pet food or birdseed and create a public safety risk," read the post.

"Even your car isn’t a secure spot to leave attractants, as these pictures from Terrace show."

Although the bear got out safely, the car has seen much better days.
