Staff Sgt. Steve Crawford of the Mission RCMP told NowMedia that the search for MacKenzie has resulted in "nothing at this point."

Today, the RCMP sent out a request to have a forensic artist provide an updated visual for MacKenzie, as the picture being distributed is not a recent one.

Once that new artist's sketch of MacKenzie is complete, it will be provided to the media and public.

MacKenzie is described as a 5’9”, 196 lbs Caucasian man with blue eyes, greying brown hair, a greying brown goatee and a scar on the side of right eye.

The 57-year-old is serving a life-sentence for second-degree murder, armed robbery and other offences, but is "considered to be a low risk to the public."

MacKenzie, 57, is an inmate at the Mission Minimum Institution, where he’s serving a life-sentence for second-degree murder, armed robbery and other offences.

According to the RCMP, despite his crimes he’s “considered to be a low risk to the public.”

He was last seen wearing jeans and a white t-shirt.
