Squamish RCMP, Lions Bay Search and Rescue and other emergency crews began a large search for the Saskatchewan woman who had ties to the Coquitlam area.
Nearly 24 hours after the search began, at 2 p.m. on Monday, an off-duty RCMP officer found a body and all initial indicators point to it being Prebushewski.
A final identification by the BC Coroner’s Service is pending, but there doesn’t seem to be anything suspicious regarding her death at this stage.
"The Squamish RCMP would like to thank all those involved is the search for Ms. Prebushewski over the last number of days, particularly Lions Bay SAR, the Coast Guard and RCM SAR" said Cpl. Sascha Banks.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Ms. Prebushewski."
Squamish RCMP will assist the BC Coroner’s Service over the next few days to determine any investigative avenues.
