The Okanagan Valley has been named one of Airbnb’s major wine destinations

There are plenty of whimsical, unique Airbnb’s in the Okanagan, and one of the major benefits of vacationing here is the wine community.

As B.C.’s largest wine region, the Okanagan Valley welcomes guests from around the world to experience wineries that range from small family-owned operations to large world-class facilities.

With nearly 200 licensed wineries, the area attracts lovers of many grape types, from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.

In 2017, 125,857 total guests arrived in the Okanagan Valley, bringing in over $21 million for Airbnb hosts. A typical host earned $5,577 last year from Airbnb guests.

Kelowna made it into the top five cities overall in Airbnb’s report.

“We love being Airbnb hosts – sharing the beauty of our vineyard with travellers from across Canada and beyond. We’ve had some lovely conversations and enjoyed seeing our property through the eyes of strangers,” sais Aura, a host in Kelowna.

The two most wishlisted Airbnb’s in the area are located in Cawston and Summerland.
