YYJ posted on social media cautioning flyers to check their flights as “multiple flights have been delayed or cancelled” and to drive carefully on the roads to due to the severe weather.

Environment Canada (EC) issued a snowfall warning for Greater Victoria, expecting total amounts of 10 to 25-centimetres of snow.

Their warning also note that the rapidly accumulating snow to make travel difficult and cause lowered visibility.

The EC weather station located at YYJ reported a visibility rating of only 0.8-kilometres.

However, EC does expect snow to relent near midnight.
