(Update - 10:40 a.m.): BC Hwy 1 is now open to single-lane alternating-traffic west of Chase.

(Original - 8:50 a.m.): Residents travelling east should be aware that BC Hwy 1 is currently closed in both directions west of Chase.
According to Drive BC, the closure comes because of a vehicle fire between Willow Road and Chief Neskonlith Drive that happened around 6 a.m.

At this point, there is no estimated time of reopening. Crews are currently on scene and an alternate route has been set up via BC Hwy 97.
