(UPDATE: Aug. 13 @ 9:51 am) – In an update provided early Saturday morning, DriveBC confirms that Highway 3 between Keremeos and Osoyoos is fully open.
The highway was previously closed due to a vehicle fire.

The highway was down to single lane alternating traffic on Friday.
On Aug. 12, the BC Wildfire Service reported a new wildfire in the area which was called the Richter Mountain fire. For more NowMedia coverage on that fire, click here.
However, the connection between the two incidents has yet to be confirmed by the BCWS.
More than 30 firefighters responded to the blaze. As of Saturday morning, the fire is estimated at 26 hectares.

(Original story: Aug. 12 @ 5:22 am): Hwy 3 is closed in both directions between Keremeos and Osoyoos.

DriveBC added that motorists should watch for traffic workers.
