Man found dead at bottom of cliff in Shuswap park

A man has died after apparently falling from a cliff in the Shuswap.

Sicamous Mounties said they were called at about noon on July 29 after a body was found on the Creek Falls Trail.

The trail is in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District Park, near Mara.

They found the body at the base of a steep incline leading up to a cliff above.

“This investigation is ongoing but at this time it appears this is a tragic incident, we would like to thank the partners who assisted us on this file and the recovery of the deceased’s body,” said Sgt Murray McNeil.

The BC Coroners Service is also investigating.

On July 27, a 72-year-old man died after falling from a cliff in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park.

A man also died at Sicamous Creek Falls in May.

Anyone who witnessed what happened or who has information that could help is asked to call at 250-836-2878.
