A Summerland mom had the first New Year’s baby in the Okanagan.
Sayaka Gayton had a natural home birth for her second child, who was born at 3:19 p.m., on January 1st.
The little cutie Sakura Buendia Gayton is the second born for her parents Ivan and Gayton, and a little sister for 2-year-old Kaede Buendia Gayton. The baby girl weighed 6 pounds and is doing well.

Aaryan Wahid was born at 5:38 p.m., weighing 8 pounds. Wahid is the first child for mom Riffat Siddiqui and dad Kafi Wahidunnabi.
