Hi everyone! I’m a wedding photographer based in Kelowna with a constant itch for adventure. I love taking pictures of people in moments of pure joy when they are untroubled by stress and problems. I’m wrapping up my last year of Mechanical Engineering at UBCO and spend my free time climbing, tinkering on old Japanese cars or coming up with new adventures. You might also catch me DJing at Cactus Club downtown or other establishments around the Okanagan!

Why do you use Instagram?
Instagram is a huge challenge. The algorithm is always changing; people are always going to try and beat the algorithms but the biggest trick isn’t really a trick, its making amazing content that people connect with. If the content is amazing, it will get noticed.
What will people see on your feed?
You’ll get a mix of my wedding photography which is my main “genre” of photography mixed with a taste of composes the Okanagan adventure lifestyle.
Does your page have a specific style?
In my eyes, there are 3 elements to a great photograph. It needs to look pretty (colours, exposure etc), it needs to be composed well (not crooked, subject placed in an aesthetic spot, clean background) but the special ingredient is a “moment”. Something special that the picture manages to capture just in the knick of time, such as an attempt to hide a grin, an impromptu piggy back or a covert kiss.
Favourite Instagram accounts to follow?
Do I get to chose 3? I’ll chose 3. @emmett_sparling for his adorable animal portraits and travel shots. @brandontaylor23 for his moving wedding work. @joelsview for his stellar landscape wedding photography (plus he’s Kelowna based!)
Why do you follow KelownaNow?
Hmm why do I follow KelownaNow. It seems like they’ve really got a good feel for the pulse of Kelowna. I can’t count the number of times I’ve messaged the group chat to share a KelownaNow link of something fun we need to do.
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
Blindfold + Map + Darts…………Jokes. A lot of the time, during weddings I’m time/location restricted so I feel like I’m on that Chopped cooking show and have to create something incredible out of something unorthodox.
Biggest Instagram moment?
Phew my fingers are getting tired typing this by now. There was a photo I shot of Machine Gun Kelly at Centre of Gravity a few seasons ago that was pretty hyped up. Definitely not a photo I would’ve expected to get traction on, but years later I still get MGK fan accounts following me.\
Favourite hashtags?
Ha, funny question. Hashtags are really interesting to me and I could totally nerd out about them. #PNW since I am completely in love with the area. #authenticlovemag because it always inspires me to capture the most intimate and amazing aspects of my wedding couples.
