The UBCO men’s soccer team may have lost their weekend matches, but there was a bright spot in the losses as Ronan Woodroffe set a new team record for saves in a season.
Woodroffe, a third-year keeper, made nine saves against Trinity Western University (TWU) to bump his season total to 73 saves on Friday.

The new record surpassed the previous high of 68, which was set by Nicholas Reitsma in 2019.
Woodroffe’s nine saves were the second-most in a single game in school history. The record is 10 saves, which was set by Christopher Cuthill in 2014.
Following the 3-1 loss against TWU on Friday, the third-year keeper added one more save to this season's total in a 6-0 loss against the University of Fraser Valley (UFV) on Sunday.
The Heat are back in action this weekend as they host the Thompson Rivers (TRU) WolfPack on Friday and Saturday at Nonis Sports Field.
