Suspect still at large after Okanagan restaurant robbed at knifepoint

Fortunately, there were no customers inside a Vernon restaurant that was robbed at knifepoint this weekend.

RCMP officers were called to the 3100 block of 29th avenue shortly after 9:30 pm on Saturday after an unknown man entered the store, threatened staff with a knife and demanded cash.

He fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money and officers have been unable to track him down since.

Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy says the investigation is ongoing and confirmed no one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his early 20s who was wearing a dark jacket and a hoodie at the time.

If you have any information regarding the robbery, call the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 or report tips anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
