HM commercial celebrated their 6th annual commercial report by hosting the HM Crystal ball, a predictive discussion event where leaders in business and innovation discuss Kelowna’s forecasted growth over the next 10 years.
City of Kelowna’s Doug Gilchrist hosted the event this year on Thursday, Oct.14.
“There are representatives from appraisal to development to real estate sales, all the associate groups, architects and more. A really important group for building our city.”
He says good planning is the next important step.
“Being nimble and dynamic and being able to respond well to what we know is a very quick changing future.”
Gilchrist mentions that the pace of growth in Kelowna has always been a challenge, “we’re one of the fastest densest Metropolitan areas in the country in terms of our growth, so that comes with a lot of challenges but also opportunities.”
As for upcoming projects, Gilchrest explains the residents of Kelowna can expect great residential and mixed commercial projects.
The City of Kelowna is also implementing infrastructure work throughout the city.
“We spent nearly 100 million dollars next year on infrastructure from recreational to multimodal transportation recreation, it's a great time to be in the city.”
