VIDEO: Human composting as an alternative to burial or cremation

The Washington State Legislature has approved a law that could make the "composting" of human remains a legal option. If it gets the approval of the Governor, Washington will become the first state to do so. We took the question to the streets of Kelowna to see if people on this side of the border are ready for it.

Washington based activist and funeral home owner, Katrina Spade has been advocating for the option for years. Studies at two American universities have demonstrated a process that creates an end product that meets or exceeds regulations on soil pathogens and metals. If Governor Jay Inslee signs off on it, the law could take affect as early as may of 2020.
