VIDEO: Legal weed, one year later

It's the one year anniversary of the legalization of cannabis in Canada.

There have been issues over price, availability and politics about where retail stores are allowed to go. But in terms of pot usage, most people we spoke to in Kelowna say the legal status has done little to change whether people choose to use marijuana or not.

Most people we spoke to on the streets of Kelowna told us that there were people who smoked marijuana prior to legalization and those who didn't, and the change in legal status hasn't changed things. But it has for some.

Early indications suggested there was a notable increase in usage in the early days of legalization, but it's unclear if that was just because of the novelty.

The one year anniversary of cannabis legalization comes simultaneously with the legalization of edible marijuana products which we can expect to see in shops in the months ahead.
