The Kelowna Rockets came up short in a valiant comeback effort, recovering from a 4-1 deficit to tie it near the midway mark of the third at four each, but Ty Ronning's second of the game late in the third gave the Giants the 5-4 win.
The Rockets special teams did well with one power-play marker and one shorthanded goal. Cal Foote with the shorthanded goal and Rodney Southam with the power-play marker.
In the bad luck department though, Vancouver got one early in the middle frame as the Rockets missed a pass back to the blue line on a delayed penalty that found a path all the way into the empty Kelowna net.
