Kelowna’s only breast cancer paddling team has given back to those struggling with the disease.
Bust ‘N Loose, the breast cancer survivor dragon boat team, has donated $2000 to the Interior Breast Rapid Access Program for Investigation and Diagnosis. This program, IB-Rapid, gives support to those diagnosed with breast cancer or those with a high suspicion of breast cancer.

The Bust N’ Loose team is an all-inclusive group with only one qualification: participants are breast cancer survivors. Every year they have a fundraising event for a cause related to breast cancer. For the last four years, 50 per cent of the proceeds from their Boob Tour fundraiser (their most lucrative fundraiser) has gone to the RAPID-Breast Cancer Navigator Program at SAHCSI, the Kelowna-based cancer information centre. The team donates every year, and if the fundraising has been particularly successful, further proceeds go to items or programs on the wishlist of SAHCSI.
The Boob Tour is a stand up comedy show that aims to fight cancer with laughter. This year’s show is on Friday, May 22nd. The Boob Tour sells out quickly, so if you’re interested, tickets are available on BUST N’ LOOSE’s website.
The Bust 'N Loose team went to the International Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Festival in 2014, coming in 35th.
