The Vancouver Canucks have acquired Brandon Sutter from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Canucks’ General Manager Jim Benning announced the trade Tuesday morning.

The Canucks sent Nick Bonino, Adam Clendening, and a second round draft pick in 2016 in exchange for Sutter and a third round pick.

Originally drafted 11th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Sutter has recorded 98 goals and 87 assists in 495 career games with the Penguins and Hurricanes.

The 26-year-old was traded to the Penguins in 2012 and has represented Canada three times at the World Junior Championship.

Bonino was acquired by the Canucks in 2014 in the trade that sent Ryan Kesler to the Anaheim Ducks. Bonino had 15 goals and 24 assists in 75 games last season.

Clendening was acquired in January from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for prospect Gustav Forsling. Clendening had two assists in 17 games with the Canucks last season.
