After a couple days of intense rumours, it looks like the Toronto Blue Jays have reached a deal with Jose Bautista.
MLB reporter, Ken Rosenthal, confirmed the signing, which appears to be a one-year contract with a mutual option.
Sources: #BlueJays, Bautista have deal: One year, mutual option, pending physical. Announcement expected later in week. @BProToronto first.

Per @JonHeyman, Bautista guarantee with #BlueJays will be above $17.2M he rejected in team’s qualifying offer.

The deal, which is pending a physical, is reported to be higher than the $17.2 qualifying offer that he already rejected from the team.

While the deal is only for one year, reports say there are plenty of incentives and it could end up being a three-year deal.

The deal brings one of the Blue Jays best bats over the half dozen years back into the lineup after the team lost slugger Edwin Encarnacion earlier in the off-season.
Although the team lost Encarnacion, the addition of designated hitter, Kendrys Morales, along with a couple other moves and the Bautista re-signing, should keep the Jays competitive in baseball’s toughest division.
