20-year-old Jordan Renwick was a competitive tennis player for much of his life, but he swapped out the racket for a paddle and now he’s up to represent Canada in the Tournament of Champions for Pickleball.
The rapidly growing sport caught the interest of Renwick and he has been competing in Pickleball since early 2017.
Pickleball, which could be compared to Tennis, uses paddles to volley a ball back-and-forth between either single competitors or doubles.
As a member of the Kelowna Pickleball club, Renwick competed in both the Men’s 5.0 singles and Men’s 4.5 Doubles at the Canadian National Championships in Kelowna, B.C. in recent weeks, collecting a pair of silver medals for his outstanding rounds on the court.
Renwick’s placement will send him to Brigham, Utah for the Tournament of Champions on August 22 where he will represent the Great White North.
With a little time to rest, Renwick will then return to the States for the first U.S. National Pickleball tournament held at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens in November.
