Kelowna swimmers show well at multiple meets

Eight KWIC Swimmers attended the Canadian Western Championships in Calgary, swimming to nine best times.

Christina Russo swam to a silver in the 100 fly and a bronze in the 50 fly.

Jasper Stone swam to 100% best times.

Gabriella Hanvold swam to a ninth place finish in the 200 fly and Molly Hill placed sixth in the 100 fly.

Axana Merckx finished eighth in the 400IM and ninth in the 200 breast. Strong swims were also had by Georgia Pengilly swimming in her first championships, Emily Epp and Paige Foster.

LLSC has 12 swimmers attend a meet in Nanaimo.

We had 5 club records broken and swam to 62 best times.

Kiana Johnson swam to 100% best times and it was her first long course meet along with Jadeyn Wiebe.

LLSC had four swimmers swim to one shy of 100% best times; Enrica Guidi who also took off 10 seconds in her 100 back, Victoria Koehle who took 15 seconds off her 200 breast and 18 off her 200 back, Madison Seeley who also swam to 3 new AA Provincial times and Alex Strobel who swam to a third place in 200 fly.

Other strong swims were had by Liam Collie swimming to a second in 20 fly and a 3 rd place in 200 fly, Kaitie Mcconechy, Jacklyn Pengilly, Pierson Piche who also broke 4 club records in the 100 free, back and breast and the 200 free and swam to 3-1 st , 2-2 nd and 1-3 rd place finishes.

Nathaniel Hees who broke a club record in the 200 fly placing second and dropped 11 seconds in his 200IM and Kaleigh Reese who shaved off 17 seconds in her 200IM placed second in 100 breast and third in her 200IM and 100 fly.

Four swimmers swam in a one day meet in Kamloops.

Ava Toyata swam to 100% best times and broke a club record in the 50 free dropped 19 seconds in her 100 fly and took off an amazing four minutes in her 400 free placing first in both the 50 and 200 free and third in her 400 free.

Avery Simpson swam to 100% best times as well as Annika James who placed first in 100 free and second in 50 breast.

Strong swims were also had by Breanna James.

Upcoming meets will see the swimmers at H2O May 12-14 and then KWIC swimmers will be in Vancouver at the Mel Zajac International Meet May 26-28.
