A heat warning has been issued across parts of the Thompson-Okanagan.
It affects the Central Okanagan, South Okanagan and North and South Thompson.
Environment Canada said residents and visitors should expect highs of between 35 and 40ºC.
Overnight, lows are forecast to be in the high teens.
The warning is in place from Wednesday until Friday morning.
“A strong ridge of high pressure will bring a short-lived heat wave to British Columbia,” Environment Canada explained.
“High temperatures once again return to Southern Interior with daytime highs 35 to 40 degrees and overnight lows near 18 degrees over Fraser Canyon, South Thompson, Central and South Okanagan.”
The agency urged people to drink plenty of water and stay in a cool place.
