Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather statement for Sunday in the Central, North and South Okanagan, from Vernon to Penticton.
Hot weather is expected to continue today.
A strong upper ridge of high pressure over the province will bring another day of heat to southwestern, B.C.
The coast temperatures are expected to peak again to the low 30s.
The southwestern interior is expected to push to the mid to high 30s.
Conditions should start to even out by Monday over the South Coast, as an onshore flow of cool, marine air is expected to develop.
The southwest interior conditions will slowly even out and by Monday, daytime highs should drop a few degrees.
Environment Canada reminds Okanagan residents and visitors to drink plenty of water and look for shaded areas if you are feeling dehydrated.
As well, never leave people or pets inside vehicles.
Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, like swelling, rashes, cramps, or fainting.
Young children, pregnant women, seniors, or people exercising outside or who have chronic illnesses should take extra precautions in the heat.
