On the surface, the forecast looks like it could be alarming for Canada Day in Kelowna.
The little icon on Environment Canada shows the sun covered by clouds spitting out rain and lightning.
Upon further inspection, however, it looks like it should be a pleasant day overall in the Central Okanagan.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected to kick off the day and that will carry through into the afternoon.
It could go a little sideways later on with a small chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms, but the chances of either are considered slim.
Forecasters are expecting a bit of a summer breeze, however, with southwesterly winds around 20 km/h and gusts up to 40 km/h for a lot of the day.
Temperatures are expected to get up into the mid-to-high 20s during the late afternoon and the overnight low is 12°C.
