Kelowna weather: Slight cooling but thunderstorm risk lingers

Kelowna is in for a warm Friday, with showers possible through much of the day and a risk of thunderstorms at times.

The morning begins near 20ºC with a 70 per cent chance of showers or thunderstorms.

The chance of showers eases to 30 per cent later in the morning, with temperatures climbing steadily.

The afternoon high is expected to reach 31ºC, though humidex values could make it feel closer to 35.

There is a 30 per cent chance of showers through the afternoon, with a risk of thunderstorms developing again early this afternoon and continuing into the evening.

Winds will pick up from the south at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h, later in the day.

Conditions are expected to improve this evening, with a mix of sun and cloud followed by a few clouds overnight.

Temperatures will fall to around 16ºC by early Saturday morning.
