Kelowna weather: Sunny start, potential shift later in the day

It’s been a picture perfect start to the day, but it may not end in the same fashion.

Environment Canada is calling for sunshine throughout the morning and early afternoon in Kelowna as it climbs up to a high of 31°C.

The wind will start to pick up at noon, blowing around 30 km/h with gusts up to 50 km/h and it appears that it will bring some clouds with it.

Environment Canada says the sunny conditions will turn to clouds by the time the evening rolls around and there’s a 60% chance of showers beginning at 8 pm.

That’s also around the time that the wind is expected to both shift and increase to 40 km/h with gusts up to 70 km/h.

The potentially wet and windy weather is expected to fizzle out around midnight or shortly after, setting the tone for a beautiful summer day on Thursday.

The overnight low is 16°C.
