UPDATE: Snowfall warning ends for Kamloops

(UPDATE: 11:00 am): The snowfall warning issued for the North and South Thompson has ended.

Residents are still urged to drive safely.

(Original story: 9:00 am) - Kamloops residents need to drive safely today as a massive dump of snow is still on the way.

According to Environment Canada, a snowfall warning is in effect for the North Okanagan, Shuswap, South Thompson and North Thompson.

By 5 am this morning, five centimetres already fell over the Thompson, with another five to 10 centimetres on the way. Snow is expected to change into rain showers this afternoon which could make roads even slicker.

"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," wrote Environment Canada. "Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."
