UPDATE: Snow forecast for Coquihalla again

(UPDATE: Oct. 27 @ 11:20 am): The special weather statement warning of snow along the Coquihalla has been extended.

Environment Canada said more snow is expected on the highway today and tonight.

Up to 20 centimetres could accumulate near the Coquihalla Summit, the agency warned.

"An unstable westerly flow will bring snow near the Coquihalla Summit today through tonight," Environment Canada explained.

"The snow will be at times mixed with rain near the summit, and remain as rain over lower elevations of the route. Snowfall accumulations will depend greatly on the exact snow level, but could range from 10 to 20 cm by Thursday morning.

"Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions."
