A sunset walk to Kuipers Peak

Trail: Kuipers Peak

Trail Difficulty: Easy

Trail Distance: 10 minutes or longer

Directions:

This trail is located in Kelowna. From Highway 97, turn south on Gordon Drive. Follow Gordon for 11 km and turn right on Frost Road following the signs for Kuipers Peak. Make your next left on South Ridge Drive. Turn left on Dougherty Avenue and a quick right on Kuipers Crescent. Turn right on Hewetson Avenue and follow this road to the small parking lot.

This hike is perfect for the whole family, the trail to Kuipers Peak offers fantastic views and is easily accessible!

From the parking lot, the trail begins by following a wide gravel path with a bit of an incline to get the heart pumping!

Right away, it's easy to notice the lack of trees. Back in 2003, a forest fire caused major destruction to this area, leaving little to no vegetation.

As the trail works its way up to the highest point, the views are outstanding! A 360-degree view from one end of the valley to the other end! One of Kelowna's many hidden gems, nestled above the houses in the Upper Mission, Kuipers Peak is a great little getaway and is a perfect place to enjoy a sunset!

The trail to the peak is only about a 10 minute walk, but with 11 hectares in the Kuipers Peak Mountain Park, there's plenty of side trails to choose from!
