Description:
Whether it's a short or long, easy or difficult, it's always nice to get out and enjoy some fresh air. The hike to Munson Mountain is perfect for a short adventure. With fantastic views overlooking Penticton, Summerland and Naramata. Also, you can see the entire south end of the Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake!
From the parking lot, we followed the wide paved pathway to start the trail. Within 200 m we came to a cool gazebo, offering a beautiful view overlooking all of Penticton! As we continued on, the trail turned to dirt and we passed numerous perfectly placed benches. When we got closer to the top we noticed the ‘N’ from the Penticton sign! The Okanagan’s version of the ‘Hollywood sign!’ This sign is best seen from the opposite side of the lake or even from Hwy 97 driving into Penticton.
Once along the top ridge, perched above the ‘Penticton’ sign, the view is fantastic! A 360-degree view of the orchards and vineyards in Naramata, Penticton, Skaha Lake, Okanagan Lake and all the way to Summerland! With such easy access to this scenic spot, it's a perfect place to enjoy the sunset! Maybe even with a bottle of wine from one of the local wineries! ;)
After enjoying the views, we followed the trail back down to the parking lot.
