Brenton Morgan is a Jamaican import to Kelowna. He and his family hail from hotter climates and have settled in Kelowna to make it their home. Brenton started One Love Home Services, a one stop shop for all of your home or office repair needs. They offer general Handyman services specializing in carpentry, masonry and landscaping. Other services include; moving, dump runs, painting, general labour, furniture assembly and more. They are relatively new in the Okanagan but have been in the industry for over 15 years. Brenton values honesty and a sense of humour, and seeks to live out those virtues in his own life. He says that his children are his reason to succeed and that seeing them reach their goals for a bright future are a major motivation. Today Brenton and One Love Home Services are In Focus.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select and why?
My children, as they are my main drive for success. Plus, they remind you to stop and enjoy the little moments in life.
If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Jesus, as I would love witness all of the miracles he performed.
Who inspires you?
My mother, as she always provided the best life possible even when we had very little. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be here.
What are you passionate about?
Food, I love cooking and eating.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Completing my education and coming to Canada to work and having the ability to start my own business.
Where is your favourite place to dine in Kelowna? What do you like about it?
Honestly I am more of a home cook. I do like to support local business such as; Nature’s Fare Markets and House of Caribbean Food Supply.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
I see my business growing into other areas as we expand our client base in the area. Personally, I see myself helping my children develop and pursue their dreams towards high education. I hope to complete the building of my dream home back in Jamaica and also build my home here in the Valley.
What are your favourite books or the top books that have most influenced your life?
The Bible.
What do you value most in people? friends?
Honesty and understanding plus the ability to laugh together.
Tell us about a defining moment in your life.
Arriving in Canada to develop my professional skills. It was a very big step to leave my country and arrive in another.
What makes you successful? Tell us about it.
Attitude is everything, I always try to treat others how I would like to be treated. I also feel it is my determination to keep moving forward and looking up. No matter what happens there is always tomorrow.
