Former radio host Jian Ghomeshi has withdrawn his $55 million lawsuit against the CBC for wrongful dismissal.
The lawsuit was launched against the CBC in October after the 47 year old was let go from his position as host of the entertainment program Q.
According to the CBC Ghomeshi will still need to pay $18,000 in legal costs incurred by the company. The CBC had tried to have the suit dismissed saying it “was without merit and an abuse of the court’s process.”
The former radio host is currently being investigated by Toronto police after at least three women filed complaints alleging he was physically violent with them. The complaints stem from sexual acts, Ghomeshi has not been charged with any criminal offences.
Ghomeshi has yet to issue a statement regarding the withdrawal of the multi-million dollar lawsuit against his former employer.
