Of course, we're referring to our furry bffs! While dogs aren't technically allowed inside restaurants or food establishments in Kelowna, our amazing local business owners still love to see your doggos. Many local restaurants allow your well-behaved pooch to tag along and hang out on their front patios, while you enjoy the sunshine, some drinks and yummy eats!
Most restaurants and cafes downtown state that dogs are welcome to hang out with customers on their front patios or tied up to the railing beside your table. KelownaNow loves your dogs just as much as you do, so we thought we’d put together a list of pup-friendly patios where you can kick back, enjoy a beverage and bring the pooch, too.
Sturgeon Hall is always great with dogs. KelownaNow staff has been there several times when a waiter has offered to set our dogs and ourselves up next to each other, which is usually a much more relaxing experience for them, and therefore yourself. Plus, they always keep the good stuff flowing, and by that we, of course, mean water!
You can usually can catch Doc Willoughby’s and neighbouring pubs with fresh bowls of ice cold water, already waiting by the entrance to get gulped up by thirsty, four-legged travelers. Here's to hoping someone drops a fry!
The only bad thing about bringing your dog to the Salted Brick patio is seeing the doleful look in their poor eyes as they carefully watch you gobble down a mouthwatering mound of smoked meat, bite by bite. "I can haz?"
Bean Scene’s front patio gets a ton of sun, so the staff are keen to make sure your dog stays hydrated and comfortable with oh-so-many pats! With two patios but only one for the dogs, be sure to respect the establishment and other loyal customers, while enjoying a cool and creamy iced coffee with your best pal!
Tacos, margaritas and your best friend in the whole world all in one place? At El Taquero, you can count us in! Guacamole may be extra, but kisses from their tail-wagging customers are free!
Pizza and pups! We swear this may be all we need in life. Antico Pizza Napoletana serves up wood fire baked pizza, beer and wine! They also love dogs, so we hope your pup has a lot of self-control to fight the aroma of delicious, freshly baked pizza. If you happen to slide over a piece or two his way, we won’t judge!
The Grateful Fed has lots of yummy treats to try, but beware, your pup will want to steal a bite or two as well. The atmosphere is relaxed, so at little self-grooming going on during ‘beer o'clock’ is never a big deal - for the dogs that is!
