An Alberta woman’s TikTok documenting a frightening experience while walking her dogs this week has gone viral.
The footage shows a moose charging out from the bushes onto the path where Tara Gilkie and three dogs were enjoying a nice stroll.
In just one day, it has already amassed 4.3-million views on the popular social media app.
@taragilkie15 We are so lucky everyone is ok!! For the commentators…I would never allow my dogs this close to wildlife, had I of known she was there with two babies we would have turned around. #canadianhazards #reddeer #alberta #moose #threemilebend #fyp #foryou #foryoupage #canada #dogtok #dogmomlife ♬ original sound - Tara
Fortunately, Gilkie and all three dogs are okay, she said, and she offered up a bit of an explanation for those internet trolls who were criticizing her in the comment section.
“I would never allow my dogs this close to wildfire,” she noted. “Had I known she was there with two babies, we would have turned around.”
She even posted a second video in response to a comment that asked why the dogs weren’t leashed up and called out their recall skills in the moment.

“It’s an off-leash dog park and I’m proud of how well they listened in an expected situation,” Gilkie wrote with an accompanying middle-finger emoji.
Gilke has since disabled commenting on the posts and we can’t say that we blame her!
