Amazon Canada has introduced a more flexible Prime Membership Plan.
Canadians can now sign up for the $7.99 monthly plan, which is a new alternative to the existing $79 annual membership.
According to Amazon Canada, the rate of sign-ups has expanded across the country, with the number of prime numbers doubling in the past 18 months.
Despite its website initially crashing during Amazon Prime day back July, the site till managed to sell more than 100 million products over the 36-hour period, making it the biggest global shopping event in Amazon history.
Today, Prime in Canada includes benefits such as unlimited access to movies and TV shows with Prime Video, access to over one million songs on Prime Music, unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos and Twitch Prime.
“Prime brings together the best of entertainment and shopping into a simple package at an unbelievable value for Canadians,” said Mike Strauch, country manager for Amazon Canada.
“With the launch of a monthly membership, we have added yet another easy way to enjoy Prime benefits.”
