Wayne Eyre, who is now retired, explained that Canada and the US "are neighbours and we share a continent and that’s not going away.” He added: "Geography matters."

The approval rating of Mark Carney's Liberal government "has fallen noticeably from its record high," according to a new poll from Abacus Data. The survey, however, still found the Liberals ahead of the Tories by 44 per cent to 36 per cent, with the NDP on 11 per cent. A small number of Facebook accounts based overseas are promoting Alberta independence, and even being paid for it, according to a story published by CBC News. The national broadcaster said it found 14 foreign profiles in popular Alberta separation groups. The accounts appeared to be from Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and the US, according to the article. One social media consultant described the accounts as follows: "People sitting thousands of miles away working out that Canadian outrage is a profitable niche. I think they may not actually care about Canadian politics at all."

Canada's leaders have been mocked in a column published by the UK's paper of record. The article, written for The Times newspaper, discusses the "fantasy" indulged by the likes of Justin Trudeau that 215 children had been found dead at Kamloops Indian Residential School in 2021. The article also highlighted the lack of responsibility from Canada's leaders, who for the most part have not yet apologized for their false claims: "Activists and politicians love to talk about accountability, but only in regard to other people. When it emerges that they’re the ones who screwed up, who denounced innocent journalists, exploited the pain of vulnerable people, muddied the facts of a real tragedy, used graves for a photoshoot with a teddy bear, suddenly the past — ie five years ago — is ancient history and we should all get over it."
