A large scene fronted by a pro-pipeline group has made its presence well known on Parliament Hill today.
The “United We Roll” protest convoy arrived in Ottawa after spending five days driving across the country from Red Deer, Alberta.
Made up mostly of Albertans and Westerners, the convoy was created as a form of protest to federal and environmental policies.
According to reports, the movement has become a lightning rod for extremist, anti-immigrant sentiments.
Tuesday’s protests at Parliament Hill focused on two bills that overhaul environmental assessments of energy projects and ban oil tankers from the northern coast of British Columbia.
The group also called on the Liberal Government to scrap the carbon tax.
