Police in Paris say that at least 30 people have been killed and several more injured in a shooting and explosion at several locations in Paris.
People are being told to stay in their homes, with relatives, or in their workplace as the situation continues to unfold. Officials are also asking that people discontinue any event that may be underway at the moment.
France’s President has declared a state of emergency and closed all borders to prevent further attacks or those involved from fleeing. François Hollande has called the events terrorist attacks during a media event.
According to local media reports, 11 people were killed in a Paris restaurant in the 10th arrondissement and 15 were killed in the Bataclan theatre where a hostage situation is underway. French media say that up to 100 people may be held hostage at the theatre.

An explosion has been reported near the Stade de France sports stadium but it is unclear if the two incidents are related. World leaders have been notified about the attacks as they are being called “coordinated attacks” but it is unclear who is responsible for them.

According to the local French media, approximately 70,000 were in the stadium watching a soccer game when the explosions occurred and initial reports indicate they were caused by suicide bombers.
