1. New King Charles coins revealed

New UK coins featuring the image of King Charles have been revealed. The 50 pence coin is expected to enter circulation within weeks, while a commemorative £5 coin will have a more limited release.

2. Putin says Ukrainian regions now part of Russia

Vladimir Putin has claimed the formal annexation of four regions of Ukraine. According to Putin, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson are now part of the Russian Federation.

3. Jewish sect members flee custody after human trafficking arrests

More than a dozen members of a Jewish sect that were arrested in Mexico have fled, according to officials. They had been held on suspicion of human trafficking and sexual abuse.

4. US army doctor charged over leak of information to Russia

An American army doctor has been charged with a plot to leak information to Russia. Jamie Lee Henry, as well as Anna Gabrielian, have been accused of sharing confidential data about patients at a military hospital.

5. EU to levy windfall tax on energy companies

The EU has announced a windfall tax on the profits of energy companies. Funds levied are expected to be directed towards businesses and families.
