‘Sasquatch spotted?’: Highway webcam appears to capture the elusive Bigfoot

An age-old myth has suddenly been rekindled thanks to a highway webcam in Washington State.

In a tweet, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) released photos of a shadowy figure that certainly does have a vague resemblance to Sasquatch.

“Sasquatch spotted!!! I’m not superstitious… just a little stitious,” reads the tweet posted by WSDOT on Wednesday.

“If you look closely by the tree on the left there looks to be something.”

In the still image, taken by webcam on Sherman Pass, the so-called Sasquatch appears to be mid-stride walking into the forest of the Pacific Northwest, an area it has long been rumored to live in.

A closer look does reveal a tall blurry figure, that could possibly be a person wearing all black while sauntering through the snowy woods.

However, Twitter sleuths have their doubts, with many believing the image is simply displaying the trunk of a tree outlined by its own branches.

The tweet also includes two different photos that are taken at different times of the day, prompting one commenter to suggest that “if it’s a Bigfoot it must be a slow one,” to other readers.

BC and Washington state have long been considered "hotspots" when it comes to Sasquatch sightings.

If you would like to hunt for yourself from the comfort of your own home, you can watch WSDOT’s publicly available traffic cameras by clicking here.
