Those who had tickets to the cancelled Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival in August will get an email on Tuesday regarding refunds.
“The decision to cancel the 31st annual festival was unprecedented, and it took time to determine our refund and donation process,” the festival said in a statement on Monday. “We truly appreciate your understanding.”
The 2023 edition of the festival was cancelled on Saturday, Aug. 19, after just one night of music due to the unprecedented wildfire situation in the region.
Those who only had single-day tickets for Friday, which went on as planned with Blue Rodeo headlining, will not be eligible for any sort of refund and won’t receive an email Tuesday.
Anyone who had full-weekend passes or single-day tickets for Saturday and Sunday will get either a partial or full refund if they request it.
Full refunds are available for those who had Saturday or Sunday single-day tickets. Weekend passes are eligible for up to a 70% refund, while camping passes can get refunded up to 50%. There will be no refund available for alcohol tickets.
People can also choose to donate their tickets to the festival, which organizers say will go entirely towards putting on the event in 2024.
“Roots and Blues is where our friends, family and community meet once a year to create everlasting memories,” the festival’s statement noted.
“Despite this year’s festival being cut short, we will make every effort to present the 32nd annual festival in the way we have all come to know and love.”
