BC has announced a big change in the way it organizes COVID-19 data such as daily case counts and deaths.
On Thursday, Dr. Bonnie Henry confirmed that the BCCDC will begin updating a Local Health Area (LHA) map each week.
Data had previously been organized according to health authority, some of which span great distances like the Interior Health region.
The BCCDC will also begin posting a seven day rolling average on their site.
“This average gives a better picture of the general trends instead of big peaks and valleys that can occur when cases are added to the public health databases we maintain,” said Interior Health in a release.
BC reported an all time daily high of 28 deaths on Thursday, along with 723 new COVID-19 cases.
