Okanagan Mounties are investigating a fatal crash that happened on Westside Road.
Around 3:45 pm Monday, emergency crews were called to the north end of Westside Road near the intersection of Lawrence Lane for reports of a single-vehicle crash.
The investigation has found that an older-model grey Dodge Ram pickup caught the soft shoulder and rolled off Westside Road to the right while driving northbound.
All three occupants, an 18-year-old Vernon man, 19-year-old Vernon woman and 15-year-old youth, were ejected from the vehicle.
Sadly, the 18-year-old, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two passengers both suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Cpl. Tania Finn said the North Okanagan RCMP offers its “sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
Westside Road was closed in both directions for several hours to accommodate the emergency response and investigation, which is ongoing at this time.
