(Original story: May 7 @ 4:20 pm) - British Columbia’s vaccination program is rolling along, with those aged 40 and up able to book their vaccination appointments starting next week.
However, some “high-transmission” neighbourhoods and communities are being fast-tracked through the program, which is now the case of the District of Summerland and Kelowna’s Rutland neighbourhood.
Interior Health made the announcement today, stating that anyone born in 1991 or earlier in these two areas will soon be invited to book vaccine appointments if they’ve registered already.
“Notifications to book appointments will be sent to all registered residents based on their postal codes in Summerland and Rutland in the coming days,” explained a release from the health authority.

IH is encouraging everyone throughout the BC Interior to register for their vaccination as soon as possible so no one misses their earliest opportunity to book a vaccine appointment.
As of today, according to Health Minister Adrian Dix, 45% of eligible British Columbians have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
