Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) responded to a pair of incidents within 90 minutes of each other on Monday.
The first call was a request to assist in the evacuation of an injured mountain biker who had gone over the handlebar of his bike.
COSAR responded to the call with eight members and an air team.
Due to the significance of the man’s injuries, a BC ambulance medical helicopter called in as well.
COSAR secured a landing spot for the helicopter, which extracted the male and transferred him to Kelowna General Hospital.
During that recovery, COSAR was called to assist the RCMP in finding a missing woman.
The woman had walked away from her truck in the area of Big White Road and Highway 33.
Half of the COSAR members from the first call were dispatched to the area with another six members joining them.
That crew, along with three RCMP officers, were able to locate the woman a short distance from where she was last seen.
The woman was found unhurt, but a little tired, in a ravine area.
